Jolis Tricots {Brioche bicolore}

I’ve always loved reinterpreting patterns, changing colors and yarn sizes, adding that little touch that makes my knitting unique and perfectly suited to me. One of the best examples that comes to mind is my Secret of Change, created by Veera Välimäki. I added an extra repeat at the end of the “official” pattern, knitted it in two colors and added a picot flap. As much as I love the original pattern, I can safely say that my modified version is one of the knits I wear the most, thanks to these modifications.

One of the things I love most about my work as a designer is seeing YOU reinterpret my patterns. Here are a few examples to inspire you the next time you’re looking for a two-tone brioche shawl pattern.

PS: If you’d like to have your knitwear featured in future editions of Jolis Tricots, don’t forget to post your photos on IG and tag #tisserincoquet!

Young shoots

Jeune Pousse is an asymmetrical triangular shawl with different sections in moss and brioche stitches, with a lace border. He uses two skeins of fingering wool. The pattern is available as usual in :

Let’s face it, Melissa is very talented. She makes lovely project bags, she spins, and of course, she knits. She chose nature-colored tones to knit her shawl, and it’s gorgeous! It really makes me want to knit one in a more neutral shade!

Brioche for Teatime

The Brioche for Teatime shawl is knitted from the center to the edge, with i-cord edging. Its body alternates between brioche-stitch and foam-stitch sections and features a perpendicularly worked brioche border. The pattern is available as usual in :

mreffle knitted her Brioche for Teatime last January as a gift for her daughter Heather, using two skeins of The Loving Path Fibre Arts Sole Sock. All his modifications are detailed in his Ravelry project !

I love everything about this photo. The colors, the focus, the pretty knitting.
