Coups de cœur #1

I don’t know how many hours I’ve already spent on Pinterest browsing the various pins … and wanting to buy all the pretty wools and patterns I saw there. I’ve always managed to stay on track. Well yes, with Pinterest you’re not directly on a merchant site, so it’s pretty easy to resist. Where things get complicated is when you’re doing it on Etsy 🙈 So so that I’m not all alone in trying to resist (and drool) over all these beauties, I’m sharing here my favorites of the moment.

The ones I’ve already tested

  • (Vi)laines: I’ve known about Marion’s wools for many years now, and I’m still delighted to use them. She was inspired by one of my laundry problems to create her color Confetti Mimosa, which I love. Mélusine also has a special place in my heart, as it’s the color we created together for Echeveau Solidaire. I’ve got an idea in mind to show it off again, but that’ll have to wait!
  • La Fée Ballot: technically, I haven’t really tested her wools yet, but there are a few skeins waiting to be pawed, so I’ll be back in a while to tell you all about it. The Camille kit is particularly appealing to me, and is so right up my alley that it’s almost a crime that I don’t already have it at home. The Amitiés color is also catching my eye, I could see a nice pair of socks with a little stretch knit pattern with it!

The ones I’m craving

  • C’Laines: her roses stole my heart, whether in fingering (here in Bois de rose) or mohair (here in Incarnat), but she also has a gorgeous Saffron yellow and pretty kits.
  • Le cauldron des laines: you know my love of speckles, so inevitably its Lemonade color really speaks to me. And what about his mini assembly, are we talking about that or not?
  • Vulcan Yarns is the dream of every knitter who loves a variety of wools. I’m in a phase where I only want to use plain colors at the moment, but the colors in her Sunflower/Ochre sock kit are still very appealing to me. My only regret is that, at only 50+20g, I don’t think this kit will fit certain sizes. With my small 39, it’s just right for me though 😊
  • When I say plain, I’m really talking about semi-plain or light speckles in a sprinkling. And that’s exactly what you’ll find in Le fil de Sidonie‘s boutique. I resist with all my might as her pretty pale pink with pink speckles beckons me to turn it into a shawl.

A few accessories for the road

I think I’ll do a full article on the subject one of these days, because I think there’s a lot to say.

  • The one I’ve been after for years (no lie!): theplatypus at Barruntando Ceramics.
  • The cute bunny bowls (which look super big) at Little Wren Pottery.
  • I love the mandala bowl handle at Terr’Ame Ceramiste.
  • I’m a big fan of the Little Prince, and Crochtamaille ‘s markers of the same name are bound to tempt me, even if they may be a bit large for some projects. A small detail: these markers were originally designed for crochet, but they are also perfect as progress markers in knitting (e.g. for increases/decreases or for twists).
  • And we finish off with a few cuties with markers from Hello Kim. As before, they’re probably a bit large for socks, but I think they’ll be very practical for a shawl or sweater. Personally, I can’t decide which I prefer between the Rabbits and the Gourmandises.

I’ve only made a small selection here, if you want to see all my favorites, you can find them on my Etsy profile (where they’re organized into lists to make it more convenient 😘). By the way, if you browse through it, I think you can get a good idea of the colors I’m in the mood for at the moment – it’s not on purpose, but there’s clearly a theme!

And what are your current favourites?

PS: this article is sponsored by Etsy but as you might expect, the selection is entirely mine 😉
