The days are getting shorter, the long-awaited cold is slowly returning and autumn is finally settling in around here. I\u2019m the first to be thrilled about it, since summer is the season I like the least. Between the intense heat\u2014which is often completely overwhelming\u2014the bugs that have a field day on our legs and arms, and the nasty sunburns, the only advantages I see in summer are the beautiful nights and the delicious fruits. <\/p>\n\n

That being said, there are also delicious fruits in the fall and winter, so that\u2019s not even a valid argument. I don\u2019t know about you, but I had a hard time knitting this summer. With the heat, either the yarn would stick to my fingers or my skin would get too dry. Iin short, it wasn\u2019t pleasant at all! Since the start of the year (my year starts the first week of September, it\u2019s always been that way and I\u2019ve come to terms with it; I\u2019ll tell you more about it later if you\u2019re interested), my knitting mojo has returned, and I\u2019ve already had several projects in progress or finished. Here\u2019s a quick photo recap of the last few weeks. <\/p>\n\n

From left to right and top to bottom:<\/p>\n\n

  1. The notebooks that will be with me all year long: some Hobonichi A5 and A6<\/a> notebooks, a Traveler\u2019s Notebook<\/a>, and a Take a Note Record<\/a> with its very detailed grid, which I use specifically for knitting. I use them for both organization and hobbies, including a notebook dedicated to tracking my tasks, one for knitting, and another for my study of Egyptian hieroglyphs, which I resumed this summer. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. I bought some Sarica Studio<\/a> inserts (which fit into the Traveler’s Notebook shown in the previous photo) to add a few little things to my order from Journal Blend<\/a>. Oops! <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. I’ve finished both volumes of Paul Carta’s *Chronicles Beyond the Threshold*<\/em> (Volume 1<\/a> * | Volume 2<\/a> *). I really enjoyed these two fantasy novels, which follow Khima\u00ef, a crown prince stripped of his rights after a plot against his father, on his quest to regain power. Or, more precisely, in his quest to find his childhood friend, who possesses the knowledge he needs to reclaim the throne. I have to admit that, for once, I was caught off guard by the ending (which I didn’t see coming) which isn’t always the case, even though I was left feeling a little unsatisfied by the final conclusion of these stories. There’s a sequel, but since it doesn’t focus on the same characters, I don’t think I’ll read it… at least not right now.    <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. I\u2019m knitting three patterns for the second issue of TRICOTE magazine<\/a> using yarns from Chandails et Cardigans<\/a>\u2014a new discovery for me. The first is a pair of socks (I can\u2019t help myself 😬) with a pattern featuring lace, cables, and encircled stitches. The first sock is finished, the pattern is being finalized, and I can\u2019t wait to show you all the details.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n

  6. The second pattern is a pair of mittens (the third is still in the draft stage but will be ready very soon, I\u2019ll tell you more about it in future posts). I\u2019m taking this opportunity to use my super-cute stitch markers<\/a> and my needle protectors<\/a> shaped like adorable tulips. Both are available in the shop<\/a> 😉  <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. The ones coming out soon! Everything is almost ready for the release of this new pattern from the Promenades collection. The pattern will be included in the Promenades Tricot\u00e9es Club<\/a> until the next pattern in the Promenades collection is released.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  8. The ones that follow me everywhere. Socks again. I\u2019ve been working on them for years because I only knit them outdoors, one row here and there, mostly in queue lines. I\u2019ve started the gusset on the first sock. Just two more years and I\u2019ll have finished the pair 😂    <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n
