Test Details

Start date & Deadline: Dec 16th, Jan 31th.
Difficulty: Advanced beginner. You need to know how to knit short rows, some basic lace, picking-up stitches, and to knit in the round.
Materials & Notions:
  • Yarn = 50 [70, 90, 110, 130] meters / 55 [77, 98, 120, 142] yards per pair of socks;
  • 2.5 mm / US #1.5 – at least 60 cm / 24” circular needle for magic loop, or double-pointed needles, or two circular needles to work in the round. Choose your needle size to obtain gauge;
  • 1 stitch marker;
  • 1 tapestry needle.

Sizes and format:

  • Finished Sizes: 0-3 months [3-6 months, 6-9 months, 9-12 months, 12-24+ months] to fit foot circumference of 10.5 [11, 11.5, 12.75, 14] cm / 4¼ [4¼, 4½, 5, 5½]”, see attachment for average child foot measurements.
  • You can chose either the written or chart format.


  • Sizes up to 6-9 months included: You need to knit and block at least one sock of each of the 5 patterns to be qualified as “Finished”.
  • Sizes 9-12 / 12-24+ months: You need to knit and block at least one sock of 3 of the 5 patterns to be qualified as “Finished”. We will agree on which one beforehand in order to get all patterns tested.
  • All discussions will be held in Slack.

Test-knitting status notices

Please let me know when you’ve reached these stages of test-knitting:

  • Mandatory : pattern downloaded, CO, end of each sock.
  • Optional (mandatory to get an extra free pattern) : Ravelry project page created, final pictures of the socks added to your Ravelry project, pattern linked to the Ravelry project page, and feedback form sent.

If you want to add the pattern to your project page in Ravelry while still in the test phase, use TEST-TC-MCB2G5 as the pattern name to link it (this way, it will be automatically linked once published).
