Lovely Knits {Falling Slowly Shawl}

by Tisserin Coquet

I always loved to reinterpret patterns, changing colours, yarn weights, adding the extra little which make the FO totally mine. One of the best example which comes to my mind right now is my Secret of Change, designed by Veera Välimäki. I added one pattern repeat after the end of the “official” pattern, knitted it in two colours and added a picot bind-off. As much as I like the original pattern, I’m utterly in love with my version of it and I can surely say that it’s one of my most worn knitted item of all times, thanks to these modifications.

One of the best part of being a designer is seeing YOU knitting the patterns I designed. Here are a few example to inspire you the next time you’ll be in search of a sock pattern.

Developped as a partnership with Petit Bout de Laine, Audrey got an early copy and knitted hers in natural shades of green and beige that I cherish.

Natural shades also for Sophie from Sionnach Yarns. She even wrote an extensive blogpost about her version and the yarns she used.

Amber chose to stay in the same colourways as my own: purple and chocolate. You can catch a glimpse of this shawl on many of her pictures but I think that this one is my absolute favourite.

Tone on tone versions are also one of your popular choices. I do like Julie‘s red on redinterpretation a lot!

And Laetitia blue on blue melted my heart too!
